My Lens

I don't design from a distance. The dashboard is a secondhand account. So is the transcript. I go to the room, I use the product, I learn the system underneath it — because you cannot design the remedy for a pain you have only read about. It's an unusually hands-on instinct for a discipline that increasingly runs on analytics and inherited assumptions, and it's how I can tell a genuine constraint from an imagined one.

The most interesting work happens where physical meets digital. Where human behavior refuses to stay tidy, and where you can't abstract the unpredictability away. Those problems are harder, which is exactly what makes them worth taking. There's also more room to play, and more of the brand ends up in the product.
